Today, our future freshmen took an important step toward high school by participating in the 8th Grade Seminar. During this event, students learned how South Putnam High School is dedicated to supporting them every step of the way, helping make their high school experience positive, memorable and life-changing. Our students discovered that at SPHS, they will graduate with more than a diploma. They learned about our Early College Program and AP programs through which students can become AP scholars and earn the Indiana College Core of 30 or more dual credits so graduates can start college as a sophomore. They also gathered information about Area 30 and work programs through which they can earn industry certifications and gain valuable skills, experiences and references for the future. Counselors and administrators kicked off the day with an overview and then high school students led engaging sessions offering their perspectives and advice. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event a success!

The Middle School play "Bedtime Stories" will be this Friday in the cafeteria at 7pm. Jeffrey stars as an exhausted father who has to tell his rowdy kids their bedtime stories, but since he can't remember all the details, he has to make them up and he goes. The next hour is a story of hilarious twists on old classics that audiences of all ages will enjoy! Tickets are $5 a person, so you won't find a better deal on quality entertainment in all of Putnam County! We hope to see everyone there!

Congratulations to the girls basketball team. They received an exemplary behavior acknowledgement from the IHSAA from their game against Speedway. The official wrote: "The team had a great attitude throughout the game. They showed excellent sportsmanship and team unity. Three girls in particular stood out to me: #11 Danae Cline, #23 Lilly Emmerich, and # 35 Madison Gardner. All had exemplary attitudes and were the first to help up a teammate, or even the opponent when they were on the floor. They all three said thank you when the ball was handed to them to put into play and #23 even helped an opponent up and apologized to her for fouling her. We need more of these types of student athletes. Great young ladies!"
