December 5th is International Leo Day and South Putnam Middle/High School is very excited and honored to have our very own Leo club. As one of the thousands of Leo Clubs in the world, our Leo club joins students from many nations in leadership, experience, and opportunities.
Thank you to science teacher Mrs. Lyssa McKee for her hard work and dedication in bringing this organization to South Putnam. During the past few months the Leo Club has been working hard to complete the paperwork to be an official chartered club. As of November 6th, we have reached that milestone. Students have already participated in several service activities with the school including the trick or treat event and assisted our sponsor the Cloverdale Lions Club. We have many more events in the works (including the Lights Extravaganza on Saturday with FFA) and club members are excited to find new ways to serve the community.

Join us for the South Putnam Music Department's Holiday Concerts on Tuesday, December 10th. The Beginning and Concert Bands will perform at 6:00 pm, followed by the 7th grade, 8th grade, and MS jazz band at 7:00 pm. We hope to see you there.

Congratulations to Mrs. Wells and the middle school spell bowl team. They tied for first in our division but placed second based on the tie breaker word. Mrs. Wells said, "I'm so proud of these students for the time and effort they put forth in studying these words. How many adults could spell sesquicentennial (yes this was one of the words they had to spell!)?
Well done, Eagles!

Congratulations to Mrs. Crum, Mr. Champion and the high school drama department for their performance this month of the play Nothing But the Truth! There was romance; there was intrigue; there was a hero, and everything ended happily!

Thank you to Mr. Welti, Mrs. Boyd, Mr. Rounds, Noah Couch, Kennedy Thompson, band members and all who made our Veterans Day program for students possible.

Congratulations to our middle school DAR Essay Contest winners. They are Melissa Anderson, Eva Smith, and Aviana Carter. Their essays on the significance of women’s voices in Colonial Tea Parties will now go to the Washburn Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution to be judged against the other Putnam County schools’ winners. Way to go, Eagles!

It was a fun night at South on Saturday during the trick or treat and haunted trail event!

Sectional Game Day! Good luck to the Eagles as they take on the Mustangs of Fountain Central. Tickets are $7 at the gate tonight. #goeagles 🦅

Good morning, South Putnam MS/HS and Central Elementary families. Good news! The water boil advisory has been lifted as of this morning, Friday, October 25th. Have a wonderful weekend, and Go Eagles!

Good evening, South Putnam MS/HS and Central Elementary families:
This afternoon, there was a water main break at US 231 and 40, which supplies our main campus. We have water, but we will operate under a boil order until cleared by the water company. Our food services director and cafeteria staff have already adjusted to accommodate the boil order, but please feel free to send a bottle of water with your student tomorrow. We will also have bottled water available for staff and students. We will keep you posted if anything should change.
Have a great rest of your evening,
Dr. Smith

Congratulations to the newest members of the National Honor Society. The four pillars or NHS are scholarship, service, leadership, and character. President Noah Couch led the evening's ceremony assisted by other current NHS members and sponsor Mrs. Elaine Bye. Leah Henry gave the key note address during which she encouraged members to led others by modeling the four pillars and challenged them to seek unique opportunities to expand their understanding.

Congratulations to our fall senior athletes!
