We are pleased to welcome Helen Eaglin to our South Putnam staff as a new Ag teacher and FFA advisor. Helen, a 2019 South Putnam grad, is coming back home after distinguishing herself at Purdue University as the ASEC Outstanding Senior. Faculty at Purdue speak of her exceptional work, insightful discussion, strong work ethic, integrity and empathy. During her time at Purdue, Helen was also a member of the Reamer Club and served as the pilot of the Boilermaker Special. Helen joins Amanda Line and Cameron Frazier and expands our already successful Ag program which was recently selected as the IAAE Outstanding Ag Program.

Mr. Pruitt handed out trivia "trophies" today! Congratulations to the Homeroom teams who correctly answered the most number of questions about teachers! Mrs. Hodge's team was particularly proud today that they had a better score on questions about Samantha Jones than her sister McKenna's homeroom.

Congratulations to Sarah Hinchman and the Spanish Club for their design and rendering of a mural in Mrs. Kate Hudson's classroom! They planned it to incorporate a day and night theme and many elements from Spanish speaking countries. Sarah roughed in the design, and she and other students have been filling it in. Thank you for beautifying your classroom.

The 2023 Summa Cum Laude Banquet was incredible this evening! Each senior who achieved a 4.0 or higher GPA for their high school career honored a special educator this evening. Students spoke with gratitude about the blessing of their empathy, kindness, grace and patience. They talked about challenges and hardships, but also opportunities and successes. Students thanked their teachers and coaches for their life-changing impact, heart-transforming pride and hope-inducing belief in them as people. It was a night of smiles, tears, laughter, love and memories. As Brock said, "I will always remember my time as a South Putnam Eagle."
