Middle school cross country runners enjoyed an evening run at home against Cascade. Each SP runner felt proud for finishing our challenging course. They also talked of ways they planned to pace differently in the next race. Well done Coach Bye!

Congratulations to Alie Newby, the 2023 Putnam County individual girls golf champion. The Eagles golf team had a strong second place finish. Fellow senior McKenzie Lovett finished 4th. Faith Wiggins, Khloe Pastore, & Belle Fanning rounded out the team. It was an enjoyable early fall night out on the course with smiles and support all around Alie as she triumphed in her final putt. Well done Coach Newton in coaching this determined team!

We are very pleased to welcome Jana Boggess to South Putnam Middle School as our new 7th grade math teacher. Mrs. Boggess, a Putnam County local, is an experienced math teacher. Her previous colleagues describe her as "exceptional," and a person who makes others feel "valued and respected." They say she always "finds a way to encourage and motivate students." Thank you Jana for choosing South Putnam. We are excited you are working with our students.

South Putnam students got up early to participate in the P.I.E. breakfast. P.I.E. stands for Prevention, Intervention and Education on drugs, alcohol and tobacco. Students choose to be leaders in encouraging their peers to make good choices in staying drug free. Thank you to Linda Merkel for her hard work leading this important group.

Good evening, Eagles: This is Dr. Smith, Superintendent at South Putnam Community Schools. I have great news! Hendricks Power was able to quickly and efficiently replace the defective power transformer at the high school. We have verified that our systems are operational; therefore, we will return to normal school operations tomorrow, Friday, August 25th. I want to thank and give a huge shout-out to the entire South Putnam family, parents, students, teachers, staff, administrators, and transportation department for proactively working together to make this unfortunate and unforeseen situation go as smoothly as possible. Everyone came together like the amazing Eagle family that we are. Thank you! So, to reiterate, all South Putnam schools will be operating as normal tomorrow, Friday, August 25th. Have a great evening, Eagles!

power is back
Good afternoon Eagles, We had a Hendricks Power transformer go out this afternoon at the high school affecting power to the high school which also impacted our internet and phone systems. This is a heads-up that we will be dismissing early at 2:00 PM for Central Elementary and the Middle School/High School following regular dismissal procedures. Stand by for more communications as this is a developing situation. Students are safe, we are just taking precautions due to the heat. Thanks!
