It's AP testing time!

Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week and the teachers of South Putnam were well loved by the community. We ate fabulous food all week like pulled pork from Steve Custis and Re/Max, cinnamon rolls from Anthony and Karen Heavin, and Jimmy Johns sandwiches from North Salem State Bank. We finished the week with wonderful dishes from parents! Thank you everyone for your generosity! Thank you also to Rachelle Custis for coordinating it!

Mrs. Neely's classes showed their understanding of world leaders with projects putting an audio twist on a poster project. With a few wires and a little coding, students added their voice descriptions to their projects.

Congratulations to Madison Gardner for her selection as an Indiana Academic All-Star. There are only 40 seniors chosen each year by the Indiana Association of School Principals. Nominees come from public and private accredited schools. According to the IASP, "Academic All-Star distinction recognizes seniors who excel in the classroom first and foremost, but who also are actively involved in their schools and communities, and take on leadership roles in those activities." Madison was able to honor her Most Influential Educator, Tiffany Dickson. Madison wrote about how Mrs. Dickson's classes have challenged her, and how Mrs. Dickson's continuous support has given Madison confidence she can succeed. She wrote in part, "Not only did she teach me math, but she taught me how to believe in myself, and I am forever grateful for the way she impacted my life." Recent recipients from South Putnam include Catherine Hodge and Evan Steffy.
