Welcome to South Putnam Community School Corporation

South Putnam Community School corporation is located in south-central Putnam County.  The corporation covers an area of 163 square miles and is crossed by Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 40 to the east and west, and U.S. Highway 231 to the north and south. South Putnam has approximately 1,150 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade among three buildings including South Putnam Middle School/ High School, Central Elementary and Fillmore Elementary.  South Putnam is committed to equipping students for professional and personal success by guiding students to excellence according the Indiana State Standards and the five C's: communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and character.

Natural Resource Field Trip
The entire 7th grade attended the Natural Resource Day at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. They rotated through 13 different stations learning about topics on biofilters, water quality, forestry, entomology, bats, energy, soil, water safety, and wildlife. Local representatives gave the talks.

2018 Fall Senior Seminar
South Putnam seniors participated in the first annual Fall Senior Seminar on Friday, September 21st. Community Liaison Karen Nelson Heavin organized the event during which community members spoke with seniors about scholarships, college applications, interviewing, personal finance, job applications, unions and apprenticeships. Teachers Credit Union generously sponsored professional portfolios for all South Putnam seniors.
